Red Lentils
Whole red lentils and split red lentils are similar in many ways, but there are some critical differences between the two.
Whole red lentils are simply lentils that have not been split or processed in any way. When cooked, they have a slightly nutty flavor, a tender texture, and a soft, mushy consistency. Whole red lentils are often used in soups and stews, where they break down and help to thicken the broth.
